Big and Small Wyoming

Posted on December 3, 2012April 3, 2015

Sigh. Back home again. While I’m thrilled to be back online, I will miss those little boys and their antics, oh, yes, the parents, too…   The twins are just beginning to walk, so life is definitely a Big Adventure! So… gee… where to start? I *had* planned to come home yesterday, but then found out…

Ho Ho

A Little

Posted on November 27, 2012April 3, 2015

If anyone would like buy me a franchise for a Hobby Lobby in Worland, I would love you for ever and ever and we would make TONS of money, because there is NO PLACE TO BUY CRAFTS IN THE BIG HORN BASIN!  Oh, there’s a shop somewhere… maybe Cody?  But not one that handles everything…

One Down

Posted on November 23, 2012February 4, 2015

If I don’t get a project finished during the winter months… it’s probably not going to get done over the summer!  At least those *hand-did* gifts… Like this one… Last year, Victoria found me the cutest Roy Rogers fabric while shopping for her twins’ quilt fabric.  I was just going to put the two back…

Highlights

Posted on November 20, 2012April 3, 2015

Getting organized for Thanksgiving, including cleaning and straightening up my house, occupied most of my day. Unknown to me, the guys moved the heifers from one field to another.  Had I known, I would have helped… and of course, taken photos for you! As it was, the most excitement I saw was my washing machine! …

Many Blessings

Posted on September 6, 2012October 19, 2014

While ranch work consumes the guys, as usual, and I march off to my day job at the library, bits and pieces of blessings flow around us. First, remember these, my Red Dirt shirts I made to benefit the Washakie County Library Endowment? They were sold at a silent auction fundraiser.  The characters of Henry…

From Rags to…

Posted on August 28, 2012April 3, 2015

Well, maybe… Maybe… If I could REALLY make it through a day where I could sit on the couch and do NOTHING else, I could either finish that dastardly baby quilt, or the new project… my rag rug. I know… the babies are almost a year old… but the quilt is a use-at-grandma’s-house-only quilt anyway……

Right Place

Posted on August 16, 2012April 3, 2015

I’m going to repeat myself. Because I talked about these years ago… but when J. showed up the other day, and brought me two new ones… I just HAVE to mention them again, they’re just so cool! This is what I’m talking about… First, “Welcome, Friends” Then, “Cowboy Wisdom” She just photographs vintage farm tools,…

Longmire

Posted on July 14, 2012October 22, 2014

Just as I was sitting down to post tonight’s Longmire Baskets for the Washakie County Library Endowment Silent Auction… ka-boom! Lightning and thunder and minimal rain… which quickly meant, once again… FIRE. My guys grabbed their Nomex and the Fire Truck, and off they went. I manned the phone, calling neighbors, the county grader, and…

Another One

Posted on July 10, 2012April 3, 2015

If you think I’m talking fire… well, yes.  My guys were out until 3 am, fighting fire in a steep and rocky canyon.  This time things went perfectly and they hit it hard and fast, and kept it to less than 30 acres! Score! Beats 4,000! Thunderstorms continue to swirl around… which means I’m on…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
