Makeover

Posted on April 2, 2013

Well, you can’t really tell too much right now, but my house is getting a makeover.  The ranch has decided to add fascia, soffit, and a new tin roof to my house!  Yippee! As you can tell, the roof has seen better days… and it’s never had either fascia or soffit… so it’s a new…

Do Something!

Posted on April 1, 2013

Wow.  What a nice day around here!  I worked on my studio, this time doing some chinking.  It’s finally warm enough, and it needs to be done before my cement floors get done.  It’s amazing how much chinking goop I manage to drop! I wanted to incorporate some colored glass into the chinking, the idea…

Frustration for the Optimist

Posted on March 25, 2013

Mercy, mercy, what a total day of frustration! iPhoto still was not working this morning, so I rebuilt it as the instructions said to do, and everything looks fine.  However, it continued to spin along, going through all my photos organizing faces… which is rather Big Brother-ish, but I let it do its thing, and…

Think About It

Posted on March 18, 2013October 29, 2014

I know it’s not much… but for someone who can’t do too much work over her head… my shoulders protest!, I’m pretty happy.  Vernon helped me insert that panel above the log, which took some doing, believe me! I’ll have to be creative with trim… perhaps rope?  Simply adding quarter round to the corners isn’t going…

Imagine Something

Posted on March 17, 2013

Pretty nasty day around here with high winds and occasional snow… I hid out inside the house! Managed to work on this blog a bit… many of my entries still aren’t formatted right, or even copied and pasted yet!  But progress is being made!  Thanks to Judi over at farmnwife.com, I’ve got this blog configured…

Questions and Answers – March 2013 Edition

Posted on March 12, 2013

Sigh. Just a smidge too many clouds to make out Comet Panstarr tonight.  Bummer. Let’s do the Q&A! Karyn:  Wow, that is so cool!! (the Frost Leaving Video) I’ve never heard of that (or heard it) before! Was that Dally or Lucas on the snow? I miss Elsa Karyn, that was Dally… and I miss…

Good Imagination

Posted on March 10, 2013

What a Nice Day! I told Vernon it’s the kind of day that makes you want to have a picnic, or go for a drive, or pour over seed catalogs!  We have lost so much snow over the past week, it is amazing!  Oh, don’t get me wrong, the fields are still covered in white,…

More and More Fun

Posted on February 8, 2013October 29, 2014

I probably messed up… It was a warmish day, in the thirties, with sunshine for the first bit.  I decided I was going to prime my ceiling boards for the studio, even if it wasn’t 50º. I hauled out a heater, turned it on, and felt it start kicking out heat. I then went to…

Halo

Posted on January 27, 2013April 4, 2015

There was a little more work done in the studio today.  If I had a kitchen fairy that would cook and clean… I could spend more time out there… so if you know one that needs a job?  Send her my way! My insulation supports worked out fairly well, though I then had to work…

Colorful Metaphors

Posted on January 26, 2013April 4, 2015

Angela… you made the comment the other day about preferring my “large projects” over crafting.  If you hang around long enough, you know I’ll switch modes… and having to empty my garage of a huge bag of insulation and 7 sheets of OSB, to help make room for my car… plus your comment… got me…

Wood Shop

Posted on January 25, 2013April 4, 2015

Really? You WANTED to see my filthy garage?  Well, after my two days at the library, I went back out to it today. Here’s the side I’ve been focusing on… I’m trying to turn this part into my “wood shop”.  You’ll have to use your imagination, because this is what it looks like after 5…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
