Playhouse

Posted on November 17, 2013

I played in my studio… perhaps I should just call it my Playhouse! The wall that is crooked and out of plumb and not square is playing with my head… and I only have a quarter of the thing done!  I sand and grind and chisel and saw and 45 minutes later I get one…

Flames

Posted on November 7, 2013

It’s in. I hired a friend to do it, and he “donated” some used triple wall stovepipe to my cause, so the stove’s hooked up to a stovepipe and it works! The tan paint is leftover from its former home… but I don’t care… It was free! The first fire has been built… not really…

Doorway to Creativity

Posted on October 28, 2013

It’s done!  I’m so happy it’s done! The only thing left is the interior latch, but I can’t do that until I finish out some around the door.  For now, a nice triangle block of wood and a screw is my interior latch!  It works. I found an old “pin” to hold my doors together……

Sweet Dreams

Posted on October 24, 2013

Worked in Worland’s library after my stint in the Ten Sleep Library, then went grocery shopping and right now, I’m about to tip over. I was going to update you on the Atlas Blizzard, but I really can’t even focus very well!  I think I’ll leave that for another night! I did manage yesterday to…

Windows and Calendar

Posted on October 22, 2013October 22, 2013

This helped today! Finally, I got the table saw up to my studio where I can rip the boards necessary for the last few windows’ installation!  I’m racing against a coming storm… and with Thursday and Friday my days at the library… today and tomorrow are probably *it*. So… This is what I got for…

Little Crooked House

Posted on October 15, 2013

Today I kept trying to remember that nursery rhyme about the little crooked man… “and they all lived together in a little crooked house.”  My studio qualifies.  Like the problem we had with the window, the door, as well, was off kilter and out of alignment. Like the picture window, I decided to straighten it…

Scream

Posted on October 12, 2013

I worked the Scarecrow Contest at the library today. We had 11 entries… this one that Brandon created won him second place! I really liked Megan’s entry of “Dorothy and Toto” as well! But here’s a photo that’ll make you Long Time Readers (and me!) scream with JOY! Yes, the window is IN!  It’s dirty,…

Feedback

Posted on September 30, 2013

Not much today… Put some photos on display at American National Bank in Worland, Wyoming.  Some of my favorites aren’t there… they SOLD while at Second Street Bakery! And speaking of sold… I can’t seem to keep the local gift store in felted soap… so my stockpile I wanted to create before putting them up…

A little adjustment. Some cuts. Some shims. Lots of screws. The frame is in… ready for glass!

Look at the Light

Posted on September 26, 2013

Holy Toledo!  It is RAINING out there!  It’s rained off and on since yesterday afternoon.  There’s snow in the high country, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we had snow in the morning. Wyoming usually smacks you alongside the head as a simple reminder that Winter Is Coming.  However, next week it’s supposed to be…

Two Down

Posted on September 16, 2013

While the guys traveled to the mountain to gather the main pasture in preparation for tomorrow’s weaning of our calves, my sister and I spent ALL DAY out in my studio. We hoped to get in three windows.  We managed two.  Well, one and a half. Nevertheless, it’s great! Here’s the cabinet setup from yesterday……

New Vision

Posted on September 15, 2013

I stare at my studio. I think if I had just worked the same amount of time that I have stood and STARED at that place, I might be done by now! I try to picture it, though…  how this cabinet will look here, why I don’t want the stove in the middle of the…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on a Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherd, Bravo, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
