Shiny

Posted on June 27, 2016June 26, 2016

Walked my little feet off today… or it feels like I did. Chasing cows through the brush, running the chute for a while, (until I started to overheat), then mowing my lawn with my little lawnmower (since some small child stole the keys to my riding lawnmower…) Whew. But, let’s look at the little thing…

Zentangled Shoes

Posted on May 2, 2016May 1, 2016

I babysat until afternoon then decided to see if it was dry enough to rototill my garden.  It was. Around and around I went, sparing the volunteer lettuce!  The soil looks great under the straw left from my straw bale garden attempt last summer.  I plan to go capture some other rotting straw and till…

Tempting Work

Posted on April 30, 2016April 29, 2016

The weather has been amazing here of late.  I believe Vernon told me in the past 40 days, we’ve received over three inches of rain and wet snow.  That is simply, simply unbelievable. And it’s cold.  I mean, in the 30’s and 40’s cold.  With wind. Yippee. I’ve been hiding out indoors.  Sitting around. Of…

Birthday Shoes

Posted on April 25, 2016April 24, 2016

Two little girls’ birthdays are coming up… and part of their presents are these. They are pretty stinking cute if I do say so myself… But I found out the hard way with mine… DO NOT spray them with Scotchguard.  I now have a smeared grey shoe to match my black and white zentangled one……

Mead!

Posted on April 17, 2016April 16, 2016

Since my sister returned from Texas, we have been plotting to make a special little item!  Years ago, she took me to the Texas Renaissance Fair.  She made me a costume and EVERYTHING!  It was a BLAST and I’d go again in a second… of course, along the way, we had a taste of mead….

Wire Woven Pendants

Posted on April 4, 2016April 3, 2016

Whoops.  Forgot about those chick pics… let’s do the latest craft instead. I’ve been playing with copper wire. You’ve seen the heart before.  Now I’ve added two feathers to the collection.  The first one was two toned, and I didn’t like it because of the looseness of the wraps.  My second feather doesn’t have any…

Wet Felting Slippers – Part Two

Posted on March 27, 2016March 26, 2016

Finally. I think I have it figured out.  It doesn’t like long videos.  How I would ever post something like a 20 minute video… it’s just not gonna let me. Here’s Part Two of what will become a long series of short videos! Felted Slippers (Part Two) from Carol Greet on Vimeo.

Hearts ‘n’ Love

Posted on March 18, 2016March 17, 2016

The movies may be done, but they refuse to upload… so… In the midst of wet felting slippers and working and cooking corned beef and cabbage and meeting new people… I hid out in my studio. I turned on my little “fireplace”. I turned on my heater. I built a fire in the cookstove. I…

Wet Felted Slipper Tutorial (Part One)

Posted on March 15, 2016March 14, 2016

Held my mouth right, and the video uploaded!  Yay! Well, I also shortened it, so Part Two and most likely Part Three will be coming as well. I still am planning my next Q&A session, neverfear.  Should I have problems uploading the next videos, I’ll squeeze it in there somewhere. For now, enjoy the beginning…

Starting to Felt

Posted on March 11, 2016March 10, 2016

I began the major felting of my wool slippers.  They still are not complete, seeing as how I actually had to go to work the past two days!   One is 80% complete, with some final shrinking left, and one I have yet to begin. I’ve just reviewed my videos I’ve been taking throughout this process. …

Slop Your Dripper

Posted on March 9, 2016March 8, 2016

The day was chilly… with tattered remnants of snow pasted on the ground.  While I should have worked again on a bee hive or cleaned the chicken coop, I remained inside, trying to accomplish a goal I had set for winter. I have wanted to make a pair of wool slippers… well, almost booties since…

Posted on February 15, 2016February 14, 2016

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your day was enjoyable… Mine was, with a little of this, a little of that… I cleaned up an oil can! Remember the one a friend gave me for Christmas???  Well, Johnny found another one while cleaning out his shop and he was sweet enough to know I’d like it!…
