Wowza

Posted on January 28, 2014

OK.  I took the morning and finished those two boards!  That wall is done! The boards were workarounds existing crooked boards, so there was a lot of crawling up the ladder, fitting, sketching, crawling down, sawing, sanding, grinding, then going back up and re-fitting. I then spent time sawing up scrap wood so it’d fit…

Artistic Wall

Posted on January 27, 2014

I did it.  97% of the wall is complete!   There are two boards, both of which need lots of fitting and finishing, and when they’re installed, the wall will be finished! (No, not talking trim or window trim or shelves, just WALL!) But this, this opens the door for those shelves that I have in…

Deer Crossing

Posted on January 26, 2014

I spent most of my day either cleaning and picking up my house or sneaking out to work in my studio. I only have the boards above the big window to install! I also bought a truckload of good plastic tubs to keep my crafts in, hopefully they’ll be much more mouse-proof than my cardboard…

Window Wall

Posted on January 21, 2014

Finally, some time spent in my studio! That’s a resolution for this year… finish the studio… and create something out there!  There’s much to be done still… I’ve run out of tongue and groove on my window wall, so it’s whatever I can scrounge. Still no clue on how I’m going to finish around this…

Create A Glowing Bathroom Nightlight

Posted on January 5, 2014

It was well below zero today with the windchill… -20 as I type with NO windchill… Needless to say, I found plenty in my house to keep me busy. I packed up the last of Christmas (no book to distract me enough today… though I’m reading two good ones…) and decided to act on an…

Step Two

Posted on December 17, 2013

Steps were the order of business today… Vernon had them all cut and ready to go, so it was up to me to sand and stain today.  Vernon helped some, but he admits that finishing isn’t his “thing”, and I sand a bit more than he does! The stain actually matches the mud room cabinets,…

Front Door

Posted on December 12, 2013

Remember this? This is what you used to see as you entered my house.  Of course, technically it’s the BACK door, but no one in the country, except salesmen that don’t know better, ever comes to your FRONT door!  We’re all tromping in mud and you-know-what on our boots, so if it’s possible, we go…

Playhouse

Posted on November 17, 2013

I played in my studio… perhaps I should just call it my Playhouse! The wall that is crooked and out of plumb and not square is playing with my head… and I only have a quarter of the thing done!  I sand and grind and chisel and saw and 45 minutes later I get one…

Flames

Posted on November 7, 2013

It’s in. I hired a friend to do it, and he “donated” some used triple wall stovepipe to my cause, so the stove’s hooked up to a stovepipe and it works! The tan paint is leftover from its former home… but I don’t care… It was free! The first fire has been built… not really…

Doorway to Creativity

Posted on October 28, 2013

It’s done!  I’m so happy it’s done! The only thing left is the interior latch, but I can’t do that until I finish out some around the door.  For now, a nice triangle block of wood and a screw is my interior latch!  It works. I found an old “pin” to hold my doors together……

Sweet Dreams

Posted on October 24, 2013

Worked in Worland’s library after my stint in the Ten Sleep Library, then went grocery shopping and right now, I’m about to tip over. I was going to update you on the Atlas Blizzard, but I really can’t even focus very well!  I think I’ll leave that for another night! I did manage yesterday to…

Windows and Calendar

Posted on October 22, 2013October 22, 2013

This helped today! Finally, I got the table saw up to my studio where I can rip the boards necessary for the last few windows’ installation!  I’m racing against a coming storm… and with Thursday and Friday my days at the library… today and tomorrow are probably *it*. So… This is what I got for…
